Meet President Sharina Armstrong
Sharina L. Armstrong proudly serves as the President of the Sigma Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta
Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Guided by the Sorority’s founding principles of Service,
Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, President Armstrong is dedicated to fostering
community impact amongst the Central Ohio Community with informative programming around
social, health, economic justice, education, and youth development.
President Armstrong was initiated into Sigma Iota Zeta in Fall 2014, where she immediately
began her leadership journey. She has since held numerous officer positions and committee
chair roles at the local level while also contributing to various committees at the local, state, and
regional levels. As Zeta is known for many firsts, notably, Sharina is the first member of Sigma
Iota Zeta to serve as Chapter President in the very chapter where she was initiated. In March
2019, she was recognized as the recipient of the Marian Hann Distinguished Zeta Award,
recognizing her exceptional dedication and contributions to Zeta and SIZ.
In 2022, she completed cohort 10 of the Zeta Organizational Leadership (ZOL) Certification. President
Armstrong was recognized in the 17 th edition of Who’s Who in Black Columbus as one of the
community leaders and in 2024 received the award of excellence for her extraordinary
commitment to serving others from Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Beta Omicron
Sigma Chapter.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization.
Guided by the International President and CEO, Dr. Stacie NC Grant, the Sorority advances its
Z-HOPE initiatives through The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E., a programmatic focus on social,
health, and economic justice for women. Under President Armstrong's leadership, Sigma Iota
Zeta Chapter remains actively engaged in the community, upholding the Sorority’s national
initiatives while fostering meaningful collaborations with other organizations.
Beyond her role within SIZ, Sharina is employed with the State of Ohio as a Director of Policy,
Reimbursement and Coding. Sharina, a native of Youngstown, Ohio received her B.S. from The
Ohio State University in Health Information Management and Systems, and her MBA from Ohio
Dominican University remains committed to lifelong learning and personal growth. She is
certified as lean six sigma yellow belt and a registered health information administrator.
In her spare time, Sharina enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her husband is an
active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and children are active members of
the Sigma Beta Club and Archonette Youth Auxiliary. They keep her busy attending various
sports and volunteer activities.
With her unwavering zeal to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and the SIZzling Sigma Iota
Zeta Chapter, President Armstrong exemplifies the essence of Finer Womanhood.
